This petticoat is made of an upcycled fitted sheet 65% polyester 35% cotton. It is a part of my fabric stash use-up 2019 project. There is some fading on the pastel yellow fabric, but nothing too noticeable. The patch covers a bit of the fabric where something (fusible interfacing?) had fused or stuck onto the fabric that I could not remove, creating an unpleasant texture. I think that the patch adds to the character of the garment. People in times past wouldn’t throw out yards of fabric just because some part in the middle was marred, and I won’t, either.
Pictured over my upcycled hip pads to give a 1700s shape.
