The mint was sluggish this spring. I was fearing that I wouldn’t have enough for tea this year. Boy, was I wrong! There will be enough to drink, and maybe some to flavor shortbread, too.
It’s right next to a heavy foot traffic area to keep it contained, and harvested regularly to control it. Any stray mint is dug up so it doesn’t become a problem in the rest of the garden. You’re right that it can get out of control if you don’t watch it. Thanks!
Mint can be a problem spreading if it gets all the nitrogen fertilizer and water it wants.
