In early Spring 2019, I decided to start the new growing season off right with a light, comfortable calico dress made of a comfortable late 80s/90s pattern.
Material: 100% Cotton Calico, preshrunk & ironed
Pattern: New Look 6556 from ebay. I wanted the skirt from view 1, but the top without the cuffs from view 2.
Cutting the pattern and fabric out
I cut everything out with pinking shears because even if the pattern doesn’t plan for finished edges, the zig-zag won’t fray and my dress will last longer. It took a little longer than I’d hoped because life got in the way.
Finished dress. It’s unbelievably comfortable, and pretty, too!
Look at those beautiful buttons!
